Eastern Command Chief reviews security situation in Nagaland

In order to review security situation in the region, Eastern Command Chief Lieutenant General MM Naravane visited HQ IG Assam Rifles (North) and border locations of Eastern Nagaland on February 3-4.  During his visit, he also interacted with troops of Assam Rifles and also called on the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and discussed the security situation in the state  on February 3, 2019.  On February 4, Lieutenant General Naravane was briefed in detail at HQ IG Assam Rifles (North) about the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness, Kohima Defence PRO Col C Konwer said. The Army Commander expressed his satisfaction on the security measures and operational preparedness of the security forces.  He complimented the Assam Rifles for carrying out a commendable job with regards to efficiently managing the security situation in the State.  Later in the day, the Eastern Army Commander along with Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps and Major General PC Nair, IG Assam Rifles (North) interacted with some prominent members of Civil Society Organisations, students, civil administration officials, Gaon Burahs and Exservicemen of the State and assured them of all possible  assistance to people of Nagaland in their endeavours for peace and development.
