New Delhi:  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday laid wreath on the mortal remains of Indian Army soldier Lance Naik Mohammad Jawed at Palam airport.

The minister was accompanied by Indian Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat.

Lance Naik Jawed made supreme sacrifice in securing country’s boundary.

He was killed when Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

“I salute India’s brave son and soldier, Lance Naik Mohammad Jawed who made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation. His gallant deeds and devotion to duty will never be forgotten. We stand in solidarity with his bereaved family,” Mr Singh said in a tweet.
