ITBP fabricated PPE kits & masks get huge response

New Delhi: Besides fabricating the quality Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) kits and masks for themselves, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is also donating and distributing the same to many needy organisations on availability.

These PPEs kits and masks are being fabricated at Saboli center in Sonipat district of Haryana.

Some of the beneficiaries are Haryana Urban Local Body (UBL) who has been given 200 PPEs and 200 masks, 50 PPEs to Rohtak Dental College, 20 PPEs kits and 50 masks to Government Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Rohini in Delhi and 20 PPE kits and 50 masks to Kondli Municipal Corporation. All these have been given free of costs.

“Now, many organisations from Gujarat,West Bengal and from many other States are requesting us to supply the PPEs and masks to them,” ITBP Spokesperson Vivek Pandey said.

As the PPEs and masks are quality products fabricated at 'Supply and Support Battalion' of ITBP at  Saboli, Haryana, these are also cheap in terms of price.

Each PPE kit cost around Rs 100 while the masks cost less than Rs 5. These products were showcased and tried by NITRA, a textile research associations and All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Mr Pandey further said.

ITBP  started fabricating these items for use of its own health and quarantine facility management centers but due to good quality and cheap price, the demands started pouring in from various organization from many States, the Force is considering to enhance the daily capacity of making the PPEs and masks to make it double.

At present 200 PPEs and 500 masks are being fabricated at Saboli centre, the spokesperson added.

The Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HWWA) is also contributing to the cause. Besides helping in PPEs fabrication, they have already made 1000 masks at the centre. HWWA members are making masks from their homes and delivering to the Centre.
