Pak Army asks its troops to stay in large numbers along LoC

After effective retaliation by Indian Army in response to ceasefire violations, the Pakistan Army has directed its troops to remain confined, vigil and be together in larger numbers along the Line of Control (LoC), bordering with India. The Brigade of Pakistan Army holding area of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) has issued this high alert to its men. “The 3 Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Brigade of Pakistan Army based at Kotli has instructions to all the units under its command on January 16. The instructions mentioned that there should be no move before 10 in the morning and all the moves to be coordinated by the Brigade headquarters. And, no post or Listening Post (Temporary post used for observation and listening) to have less than 10 individuals.” the sources said. “The cost on Pakistan has been raised that is why to limit exposure time to effective retaliation of the Indian Army. It shows we have the moral ascendancy,” said Lt Gen Vinod Bhatia (Retd), former Director General Military Operations. Indian Army has been retaliating effectively against the ceasefire violations as part of tactical operations and sniping incident being done by the Pakistan Army, a senior serving army officer said. Kotli in PoK is against the Mendhar and Rajouri on the Indian side of the LoC. A brigade generally comprises of three units with each having strength of about 1000 soldiers.
