Armies of India and China hold special BPM at Nathu La

A special border personnel meeting (BPM) was held between the troops of India and China at Natu La in Sikkim to celebrate 91st Anniversary of foundation of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). On invitation from the PLA, a delegation of Indian Army comprising of officers and soldiers took part in the celebration, the Indian Army said in a statement. The PLA troops interacted with the visiting Indian delegation and presented a cultural programme comprising several events to celebrate the occasion. As a gesture of goodwill, the Indian side also reciprocated with traditional cultural events to mark the occasion. Celebrations took place in a very festive environment and provided opportunity to both sides to display their rich culture, it added. Such interactions between both armies have resulted in promoting mutual understanding and contributed towards achieving common goals of peace and tranquility along the borders, it said.
