Developing countries should make use of digital technology: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said developing countries should be ready to make opportune use of the digital technology and key aspects like big data analysis and artificial intelligence. "The revolution in digital technologies has opened new opportunities. We are again at a historical point as we missed out on first phase of industrial revolution," Modi said addressing BRICS-Africa outreach and the BRICS plus outreach here. The 10th BRICS Summit, themed “BRICS in Africa” aims to foster inclusive growth, shared prosperity and the fourth industrial revolution. The meet was also addressed among others by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The prime minister lauded the efforts being made in Africa for regional economic cooperation. He also underlined the need for higher investment for improving digital infrastructures and said issues like workers mobility and improved skilled workers should also be addressed.
