The three rescued sadhus The Assam Rifles on Thursday rescued three sadhus when a mob of over 500 locals was about to lynch them at Mahur in Dima Hasao district of Assam. The locals had suspicion that they were child lifters. Indian Army spokesperson Col Aman Anand said, “Timely arrival of party of Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army of Assam) saved the sadhus who survived the ordeal with minor injuries.”
These sadhus were on long pilgrimage tour. After completing their visit to Maa Kamkhaya and Parashuram Kund in Assam, they were on way to Agartala when they came under the locals’ attack.
