Former Navy Chief Adm Arun Prakash visits ENC

Visakhapatnam: Former Indian Navy Chief Admiral Arun Prakash (Retd) on Monday visited Eastern Naval Command (ENC) headquarter in Visakhapatnam, where he delivered a lecture on ‘Strategic Leadership and National Security’ at Maritime Warfare Centre.

The interactive lecture was attended by all the Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of naval units at Visakhapatnam.

Adm Arun Prakash arrived Visakhapatnam on a two-day visit to ENC on Sunday, HQ Eastern Naval Command PRO Capt CG Raju said.

During the visit, the former chief interacted with Vice Adm Atul Kumar Jain, FOC-in-C ENC.  

On Sunday, Admiral Prakash attended a special programme organised by the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) at Public Library, where he released a compendium of articles titled ‘India’s Strategic and Security Concerns’ written by Commodore C Uday Bhaskar (Retd).
               
Adm Prakash served as the Chief of Naval Staff from July 2004 to October 2006 and as Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet at Visakhapatnam from April 1995 to Nov ember 1996.    

As a young Lieutenant, during the 1971 war, Admiral Arun Prakash had the distinction of serving with an Indian Air Force fighter-bomber squadron, and was awarded the Vir Chakra for gallantry in air action over West Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.
