Lockheed Martin to showcase F-21 fighter jet, MH-60 R Romeo choppers, Javelin weapon system at Aero India 2023

New Delhi: With an objective to engage its customers like the Indian Armed Forces, United States aerospace major Lockheed Martin will showcase its advanced defence capabilities and solutions, including fighter aircraft F-21, MH-60R Romeo multimission chopper among others at the 14th edition of Aero India in Bengaluru scheduled to take place between February 13 and 17.

Besides, the company would also showcase C-130J transport aircraft,  JAVELIN Weapon System, and S-92 multirole helicopter.

In a statement, Lockheed Martin India chief executive William (Bill) Blair said: "Our participation will be focused on engaging with our customers while creating opportunities for the local industry to feed into the global supply chain and manufacture in India, for India and for the world."

Lockheed Martin has also installed the F-21 fighter aircraft cockpit simulator for its defence and aerospace customers and partners to fly the jet for themselves.

Lockheed Martin is in competition to bag the deal for 114 multirole fighter aircraft (MRFA) project of the Indian Air Force. The F-21 aircraft is fitted with the state-of-the-art sensors and mission avionic systems that couple onboard and off-board data information into an effective, easy to manage combat situation display.

Besides the F-21 fighter jet, MH-60R Romeo will be another attraction point for the visitors. In 2021, the Indian Navy received the first batch of three MH-60R helicopters. These choppers are being used to train Indian Navy pilots and crew members in the U.S.

Last year, the Indian Navy accepted the delivery of another three helicopters at Kochi International Airport. The Indian Navy will receive a total of 24 MH-60Rs in the next few years.
