Bihar JDU forms new team; Nazam Iqbal appointed as secretary

Patna: Bihar Janata Dal United President Bashishtha Narain Singh has formed a new team to take the party to new height and spread the developmental measures taken by the state government.

In the recently concluded party’s election, Mr Singh was elected unopposed.

In his team, he has appointed 12 vice presidents, 19 general secretaries, 11 secretaries, one treasurer, 38 organizational in-charge and 59 members. The team has a mix blend of experienced and youth leaders.

“Bihar JDU President and MP Basishtha Narain Singh has formed a new executive team,” the party said in a tweet.

Former MP Nawal Kishore Rai, Bishwanath Singh, NN Shahi, Narendra Singh among others were chosen as the vice presidents while Manish Kumar Arya, Manjit Singh, Suheli Mehta and Ajay Paswan as General Secretaries.

While talking to UNI, newly appointed Secretary Nazam Iqbal said, “The party has given us responsibility to reach out to each and every person in Bihar. Under the guidance of our chief minister Nitish Kumar and state unit chief Bashishtha Narain Singh, we will take forward the messages and ideologies to the grassroots.”

Prior to this, he was in Youth Wing of the party. A graduate from Delhi University, Mr Iqbal had actively participated in student politics and led major protests for the students’ causes.
