New Delhi: US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi during the wreath-laying ceremony at Raj Ghat here and said “this is a tremendous honour”.
While hailing Mahatma Gandhi’s vision, Mr Trump said “The America people stand strongly with sovereign & wonderful INDIA —- The mission of Mahatma Gandhi. This is a tremendous honour.”

Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also present there.
Mr Trump and his wife also planted a tree at Rajghat.
Heavy security was in place around Raj Ghat on Monday, even as dog squads and a bomb disposal squad remained at work inside the premises along with other personnel.
