Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Satuirday indicated that no decision has been taken yet on staging the next Aero India show due to be held in February 2019.
Responding to questions from newsmen in Bengaluru about media reports that the Aero India biennial show will be shifted to Lucknow from Bengaluru, she said, 'as and when a decision is taken about the date and venue, it will be conveyed'.
She said like the Defence Expo which was shifted from Goa to Chennai after ten years in New Delhi, there are demands from other states to host the Aero Show. But no decision has been taken yet.
Bengaluru has been holding the show since 1996 and moving away from the normal practice, the dates and venue for the next show was not announced at the 2017 show.
