Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari in Bangladesh visit

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, arrived in Dhaka on Monday for a three-day visit. The trip is aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties, especially in defence, between New Delhi and Dhaka.

His visit comes at the invitation of Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan – the chief of Bangladesh Air Force.

During his visit, ACM Chaudhari paid homage to the war heroes of the Bangladesh armed forces who made supreme sacrifices during the Liberation War of 1971. He laid a wreath at the Shikha Anirban memorial in Dhaka, honouring their courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

Accompanied by a three-member delegation, ACM Chaudhari is scheduled to hold courtesy calls with the Bangladesh prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, as well as the chiefs of all three services of the Bangladesh armed forces. He will also engage with other senior officers from the Bangladesh military. Additionally, he plans to visit major Bangladesh Air Force airbases during his stay.

The Indian Air Force chief’s visit underscores the close and friendly relationship between the armed forces of both countries. It serves as a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and understanding in defence matters.

The Indian high commission in Dhaka expressed optimism that this visit will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration.
