Chandigarh: Indian Air Force unveiled its new pattern of combat uniform for its warriors on the occasion of 90th Indian Air Force Day, on Saturday.

The air warriors already have a combat dress, but the new pattern will be changed into something called digital camouflage.

What will the new uniform look like?

The new IAF uniform is having a digital camouflage pattern and a different fabric and design. A camouflage uniform is used by the Air Force for ground duty roles. The colours and shades of the new IAF uniform are a little different, more conducive to the Air Force’s working environment.

For the first time, a combat T-shirt has been inducted into the Air Force uniform. The new combat uniform is the result of the Air Force standing committee’s innovation and research. Observers believe that the induction of the new combat uniform is a progressive move amid the changing environment of warfare.

The new unform is suitable to be worn in various kinds of battlefields, like in plains, deserts, jungles, and in high-altitudes.

Some key features of this new combat uniform

It comes with combat T-shirt, disruptive field disruptive cap, disruptive combat booney hat, disruptive weapon, high-ankle combat boots. For Sikh personnel, a matching unicolour turban has been introduced.

This uniform is unique, exclusive and functional design made in order to make the soldiers better camouflaged in natural surroundings.

The fabric is lighter and sturdier making it comfortable for longer duration.
