Army, J&K Police recover drone smuggling weapons and cash from Pakistan into Jammu & Kashmir

New Delhi: On the intervening night of April 12 and 13, alert troops of Indian Army in coordination with Jammu & Kashmir Police thwarted a cross-border attempt to smuggle weapons and cash into India from Pakistan by a drone.

The forces recovered the unmanned aerial vehicle in Rajouri district’s Beri Pattan area of Sunderbani sector.

The drone was found to be carrying 131 rounds of ammunition of AK-47 assault rifles, five AK-47 magazines, and ₹2 lakh in cash.

A search operation has been launched in the area to locate the intended recipient(s) of the consignment.
