Kargil Vijay Diwas: 980km all-woman bike expedition to be flagged off from Delhi for Drass

New Delhi: To celebrate the spirit of the fallen heroes of Kargil War, a group of 4 women from the armed forces fraternity have come together for an extraordinary expedition.

Covering a distance of approximately 980 kms, these women will be undertaking a biking tour from New Delhi to Kargil.

The biking expedition is set to flag off on July 18 from the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate and culminate at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass on July 26.

Putting forth the reminder of sacrifices made by the fallen heroes and the profound impact it has on their families, these women through their homage strive to keep the memory of the bravehearts alive.

From being doctors to teachers the participants of this event named "Nari Shashaktikaran" come from all walks of life joining hands to put together the remarkable voyage.

The event is being held under the training of Iron Horses biking academy run by Aishwarya Desai, an Army wife and IBR record holder who hopes to give a message of inspiration and the unity and resilience of the military community.
