India, France discuss environment and biodiversity issues

New Delhi: India and France on Friday held bilateral meeting and discussed the ways forward conservation and protection of environment, climate change among others here.

The meeting was represented by Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar from India side while Minister of State for Ecological and Inclusive Transition Brune Poirson from France side.

“Held a bilateral meeting with a French Government delegation led by H.E Mrs Brune Poirson, Minister of State for Ecological and Inclusive Transition. Both sides discussed various issues relating to #Environment, #ClimateChange,  Biodiversity & Cooperation in these areas,” Mr Javadekar said in a tweet.

On Thursday, Ms Poirson co-presided over the second Assembly of the International Solar Alliance here.

The International Solar Alliance brings together 80 States and offers concrete solutions that help reduce the cost of solar installations, particularly in developing countries.

Her meeting with Mr Javadekar was aimed to prepare the COP25 Climate Change and the COP15 Biodiversity conferences.
