Kashmir, modernization & drones to be discussed at Army Commanders’ Conference

New Delhi: Modernization, future security plan for Jammu and Kashmir and challenges of drones along the border will be highlighted in the Indian Army Commanders’ Conference that started on Monday.

As per the sources in the defence establishment, deployment of drones by the adversary is a major challenge for the security forces.

It is pertinent to mention here the in recent days suspected Pakistani drones were spotted along the border in Punjab.

The army commanders will also discuss the emerging situation in Jammu and Kashmir post abrogation of Article 370.

There will be a detailed deliberation on human resource policies, service terms and conditions at the conference which would be continued ‪till October 19.‬

The conference is held in April and October every year, where the top leadership in the Army brainstorms on new security and administrative issues.

In the meet, the commanders will also discuss on the retirement age of soldiers so as to see how their services can be best utilised by the Army.
