India, UAE share ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’: Anurag Thakur

Dharamshala: Stating that India considers UAE as its brother, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur on Thursday said the India's relations with UAE were at their best and both nations share a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’.



It was stated by the Minister during the two-day long Rising Himachal 2019: Global Investors' meet in Dharamshala which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.



The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the partner country in the Global Investors' Meet.



Addressing the session on ‘Growing economic ties between with UAE at the first day of  the Global Investors' Meet 2019, Mr Thakur said  India and UAE share a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’, it is time to enhance this further through investments in the state of Himachal Pradesh.



Mr Thakur while lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives in introducing the new investment policy which made India a ‘Investor’s heaven’ said, ''UAE is the third largest partner which lead the relations at their best, we consider UAE our brothers.''



The Minister further said that there are many tasks force and Joint Working Groups and Ministerial Groups between India and UAE working on investment, trade, skills etc. 



He said that he is  confident that ''we will galvanise the strength of our 3.3 million workforce in bringing our nations together.''



The Minister said the Union Government has taken numerous policy reforms, economic measures, corporate tax cuts and steps to facilitate ease of doing business in India.



He said Himachal has a conducive climate, hardworking and skilled workforce that will be an asset to any companies looking to invest here.


Dharamsala is known the world over for two reasons: His Highness, Dalai Lama who has had a special bond with Dharmshala and who’s presence has brought millions of tourists to this region, the Minister said.



He also said that the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium has immensely boosted economic activity in the region and state, he added.



The Himachal Pradesh government is organising Global Investors' Meet 2019, a flagship business event.
