New Delhi: Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh on Wednesday conducted the computerised draw for selection of pilgrims who had registered for “Kailash Manasarovar Yatra”, which will begin next month.
Organised by the ministry of external affairs, the Mansarovar Yatra will continue till August 2025. The pilgrims were selected in the draw through a fair, computer-generated, random, gender-balanced selection process.
The external affairs ministry said that the selected pilgrims have been informed through SMS and email messages. “They can also log in at the Yatra website (https://kmy.gov.in) to check the status of their selection, or at the helpline number: 011-23088133.”
A total of 5561 applicants had successfully registered online, which included 4024 male applicants and 1537 female applicants. Out of them, 750 have been selected that include 2 liaison officers per batch. The selected pilgrims have been divided into 15 batches. The first five batch of 50 each will travel to Kailsah Mansarovar via the Lipulekh route, and remaining 10 batches of 50 each via the Nathu La route.
“Both routes are now fully motorable, and involve very little trekking. The route and batch details are available on the Yatra website.”
In his address, Kirti Vardhan Singh highlighted the steps taken by the government to make the Yatra more accessible and the process more transparent, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the Yatris.
He urged them to undertake the pilgrimage with a sense of responsibility, humility and mindfulness, while caring for each other as well as protecting the sanctity of the environment.
